Do you think it would ever work ? I'm pretty fed up with both sides of the isle in the tug of war and I keep thinking we should somehow try working together instead of pulling each other apart. I compare it to a brutal college hockey game that I brought my boys to when they were like 4 and 5 years old and things got real ugly , there was blood everywhere. I had a lot of explaining to do . Other end of that spectrum was bringing them to the Green/White game that our local college has before the final cut of who doesn't make the team. Some of the most competitive and clean hockey you will ever see and grudges are minimal because they are all on the same team. I don't know, I was fine with the system for years but I see a trend that I don't like. Just the way I was wired at the factory, You can't hold that against me. I'm fishing for reasons why it wouldn't work.

IMO that would be giving way to much power to the powers that be. The founders of this country are rolling over in their graves about what is happening in this country right now. The way they(R&Ds) are abusing that power now is mind boggling can’t imagine what a one party system would be like. The left certainly takes nastyness to new levels though.

I don't know I personally love gridlock in Congress! Really congress's primary job is to take away freedoms so the less they get done the more freedoms we get to keep at least for now! And no a one-party systems a horrible idea I'd rather see something more along the lines of a 5 party system. I think history has taught us that monopolies are never a good idea!

Why not a 3 party system?
That's exactly what I have been contemplating for years. A true 3 party system could really change the perception of what I call far right, far left politics.

We have the left and the right, why not the center (which is where I find myself)?

This ^^^^^^

I vote for the person who would vote the way I would on most issues or the most important issues. Not everyone is going to vote the way I would want them to on every issue.

Yea maybe that's what I am looking for , The two party system is broken and nobody seems to think a 3 party system will work . I'd just like to see everybody on the same team, It's starting to turn into a bunch of headhunters the way it is and I don't see that getting better any time soon.

We have multiple parties available for each election. That's what I consider the Green Party, the Libertarian, Communist, etc. They all can have representation in the electoral process.

HOWEVER, our two main parties are a complete embarrassment. They've polarized each other and that factor alone leaves each American left with no options for the middle. It's either one extreme, or the other. Well, I don't accept that!

The closest option to the middle aisle was Mitt Romney in the past twenty years.

Lincoln, kinda...
And McCain.

It seems that middle of the road politicians aren't as popular as we'd like them to be. For whatever reason.

McCain was further to the left than the middle. Everyone knows him as RINO...
