Message: <blockquote data-quote="Allen" data-source="post: 412340" data-attributes="member: 389"><p>Right, the reality is the U.S. is now in need of heavy crude for making tar, gear lube and other heavy oils.  Bakken sweet crude is great for making gasoline, but not so much if your business plan at the refinery is for making tar.  Every refinery was built with the intention of taking advantage of a specific range of crude oil.  We now produce a lot less heavy crude and those refiners that set up their plants for specializing in making the heavier products are paying a premium for the crude relative to 20 years ago.</p></blockquote><p></p>
