So what was the diagnostic on your atv

Haven't taken it in yet. Might push it in the horse trailer tomorrow and haul it in. Reading some of those ATV forums makes me think I could stick another $1,000 in that junker before the problem is found. I'll take all your suggestions along and see what they think.

I also agree with the CDI box theory, in 96/97/98 Polaris had issues with their CDI components. I had sleds that acted the same way when they warmed up, put new CDI box on and problem fixed.

Not a Polaris but I've had 2 Artic Cat 300's. Went through all the same crap you did with carbs and filters and plugs on the first one. Turned out it was not carb problem but electrical. The charging rectifier that has a sealed bacalite back that is bolted to the frame had a crack in the seal and was shorting out against the frame. It would idle and low RPM great but when giving it gas it would fart and sputter. This happened with both machines. The second one just changed the rectifier and problem solved.
