The funny thing is I agree with trip on everything! I’m simply stating not to point fingers unless you’re damn sure nobody can point back. His inference to screwing around at work on the tax payer’s dime was ill advised. Don’t build yourself up to just be broken down. It makes you look bad. School of hard knocks has taught some of us older guys some humility. It’s a hard lesson. The fact is I’m proud of guys like him who are fighting the good fight. It’s true, I don’t want to anymore. Keep up the good work.

I'm now confused. Is it Francis or is it Linda. We gotta get this all figured out 😂.
All in good fun. . . we are all getting "hosed".

Is 223 big enough for deer and what do you guys think about slot limits? Does a guy really need to spend $2k on a camo outfit and $700 on a pair of boots? Asking for a friend... How bout those vikes?!
Vikes - Super Bowl appearance coming soon
Boots - $700 is bush league you should seriously be in the $978-1,035 range
Camo Outfit - Good ballpark for the newbie, bump that price a little to level up for fat frame large square sunglasses so people know you mean business
223 for deer - As long as you are using 77gr TMK or or 80-88gr ELD-M

Hey Brock, when you get off work, I have an equation. Need a smart guy to figure it.

NDA Post 20

What does the CWD Research and Management Act say?

https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/senate-bill/4111/text

$70 million per year divided equally between research and surveillance and monitoring. We all get that. However, read the last sentence:

(3) SET-ASIDE FOR WILDLIFE AGENCIES.—Of the funds used to carry out subsection (c), not less than 75 percent shall be used to provide direct financial assistance to eligible entities described in subsection (a)(3)(B).

It's written in government speak and reads like an equation. Does it say the state wildlife agencies are guaranteed 75% of $420 million? Maybe 75% of their half of the $420 million? Is that like an earmark?

I am not accusing anyone of essentially writing their own checks from the US General Treasury but......

Hey dude! Sorry been tied up at the bank all day with all this money I’m apparently getting!

🤣

Anyway, I guess I read that as…. Of the funds used to carry out subsection (c), not less than 75 percent shall be used to provide direct financial assistance to eligible entities described in subsection (a)(3)(B).

Subsection c below
IMG_0186.jpeg

Beyond that I don’t see any language that declares what percentage of total annual funds are reserved for subsection c’s “Support for state efforts to manage and control chronic wasting disease”.

Could be 10%? Could 50%?

But regardless, it’s all pointless as of now. As you’ve so kindly shared multiple times on this forum, the CWD research and Management act hasn’t received any appropriated dollars. So there’s no money going to anyone from that act…because it hasn’t been funded. Only the APHIS funds are available for competitive grants(as I’ve shared before).

I will say, It was kind of funny to watch someone testify at the legislative hearing that the game and fish was getting money for positive cases from federal legislation that hasn’t been appropriated any funds and doesn’t have any language that allocates money for positive cases.

But it’s your story, I suppose you can tell it how you want. Facts be damned…

Missed you guys! 😉

I know Brock, you are not getting paid for your volunteer work.

John Hoeven's facebook page for the N.D. roll out of the CWD Research and Management Act.

Brock, you should be mad. Everyone is getting paid to be there, except you.
