I was a sucker and bought some to try this year ice fishing. Several years ago I also bought Real Weeds to drop down when ice fishing LOW. I swear they worked.

My favorite is throw a few thawed smelt on the ice, crush them with boot into snow/ice chips from auger and kick them into the hole. Sometimes you gotta encourage them to sink, but it will drift down, seems to help with pike when they are being finicky. You can do this with minnows also BTW, kinda like chumming.
