btw... Windoors on a topper are mandatory!!!

Unless you have a Ford. You cant reach the bed from the outside without climbing on a 5 gall bucket.

better order them with the vent option too if you have a dog and need to crack the windows to get air back there.

I can stand on the ground and tough the bed of my truck with the ARE topper. And I'm only 5'8" with t-rex arms. I suppose the four corner suspension plays a role there. Hee hee hee.

That said - a pair of these would be very handy. They retract when not in use. Or full length boards?

My windoors have vents but I don't use them because Royce rides in AC comfort (crew cab with rear seats folded up) - unless he's been skunked.

Kinda hard to haul a four wheeler, or 5th wheeler with a topper.
Dirty's wife is right on the topper description.

I have a roll up cover and spray in liner, not sure on brands, but the liner has an almost sticky feel to it nothing slips around on it.

If you think the topper is the shit, just get a damn suburban and roll like a pimp. Sleeping in the back of the burb you can run your heat or ac if needed.

Minimum 2k. that said, I'll never be without a topper ever again. I've had many roll up bed covers and they are worthless IMO

Unless your hauling wood or things that will scratch your bed…and even if you are you can always get spray in liner later…however a quick cheap substitute is a ½ piece of rubber from MACS, cost is right around $50, made in Canada one of the better tact I’ve seen, comes in 6ft length, if you have a 5.5ft box cut off six inches then use the additional to patch the side, fits perfectly between the wheel wells…

~$2400 I think? The rear door design is what pushed me to ARE. It has a fiberglass single piece construction that sits over the top of the whale tail on the tailgate. That way, when you open the back door, the pile of slime and dust on the top of the tailgate goes up and out of the way with the door. So when you lean against the whale tail getting stuff out it's not nearly as nasty. Leer's design (last time I checked) is a horrific joke. My friend had his busted up in a matter of weeks - and design was horrible to begin with.

BedRug has the benefit of sealing the lower gap from dust - since it's one continuous piece. (see pic). That said - if I was to log a lot of gravel miles I'm not sure how well I'd like the rug. You can remove bedrugs and power wash them. I will likely find out what that is like if a bucket of minnows ever spills in the back.

Yeah johnr - I'm real worried about what the women think of my topper as you can imagine.

Have fun hauling your deer, coyote, skunked dogs, ice fishing sleds, shelters, minnows, etc. in your suburban.

Also, when mrs dirty speaks you should be more apt to pay attention, of course her description was for that of an old man, so maybe your lack of concern of what the lady's like is spot on.

the piece that the glass is mounted to is all single-piece fiberglass. No seams, etc. Seems really well built. snow/ice also lifts up with topper door - so no seams/joints to freeze shut.

Juan, if I followed my wife's opinion all the time, I'd be wearing skinny jeans, riding my bike to work, and listening to shitty music. I most definitely would not be fishing/hunting/painting/existing within though walls of our house.

I don't have a 4-wheeler/snowmobile or camper so I'm getting the topper. The day I drive a suburban is also the same day I have a MN address.

puklich rhino 'hybrid' formula or some such?, $736.80 for 6.5' box, $641.63 for 6.5' box less tailgate (i have the tailgate step/handle thingy).

turns out they are, $470 whole box, $440 less tailgate

a whopping $200 difference buys me more than 1/2 of access tonneau!!
