Don't let the appearance fool you. The Rams are tough as nails. I've only broke one in the last ten years & that was due to a "roll over" when my boat was trailered.
Those Ram holders don't look like they would be sturdy enough for trolling cranks. Any issues when hit by a big pike?

I thought my Folbes were a pain in the ass at times myself.
Especially when you needed to grab the rod quick and it'd lock up on yea.

You are supposed to take them out of the base and put them in storage before you do that.:;:
