Beulah Bay

Hello again. It has been a while since I have posted on here. But looking for some ice conditions for this area. Going to be driving a half ton truck with 4 wheel drive. Just want to know how far a guy can travel in the area and if there are any spots to avoid. I will be having the wife and kid with so getting stuck and safety are always my main concern. Probably going to be using portables but may pull out the permanent tonight and stay over. Not looking for spots to fish just a good ol fashion ice report. Thanks in advance.

I've heard that the shoreline is getting pretty soft. Last time I was on Beulah Bay (roughly a month ago) there was only about 16"-17" of OK ice, some of it was pretty soft ice though. I wouldn't advise driving on it, but that's just me.

I see no issues with a wheeler. On Wednesday I drove 3/4 ton and 16ft glacier house about 3 miles on the east end of Sak.

That area of the lake is never good area to drive a pickup on. I heard last week a guy fell through the ice on foot in Beaver. The east end is a real death wish to drive on with being last ice to freeze, springs, and shallow islands. I watched a big pontoon one day in June send a diver down in Steinke towards the mouth and first came up an auger, then a fish trap, and oh a four wheeler..

Was out there last weekend. About 18" of ice with some soft spots. I took the wheeler out there. Some people drove on a little ways to unload the ATVs.

I would not drive on. Like the previous post said that part of the lake is real unpredictable, particularly this time of year. You can be on 2 ft of ice and next to you is an open spot. (methane hole?)
