I’m fine with it. I can’t draw 1 of the 1062 tags with 26900 applicants so one day soon I may decide to just put in for a cow and hope that makes me lucky enough. If they open it to everyone for these 90 tags there would probably be 100,000 applicants. More than likely I’ll never draw if I don’t put in cow a year or two and I’ll just have to keep hunting non-res in other states

This is the first year in my memory that there has ever been leftover elk tags in ND. In most years applying cow increases your odds for sure. I don’t care one way or the other because I will keep hunting other states, and if lightning strikes me and I hit the powerball and draw a home state bull so be it. If none of the 3 happen I won’t be surprised and will probably put in for a cow in a few more years so I can hunt one in ND before I get to old to do it and enjoy it.

I wonder if you will feel the same after applying for nearly 40 yrs and going 0 for 3 while some little 1st yr applicant booger eater or suzy home maker that doesn't hunt gets drawn because their daddy, hubby, or boyfriend applied for them

I dont know what all the fuss is about. I only had to apply twice and I got a moose tag. It was sooo easy.

My sister with only one deer season under her belt, applied for moose and elk a couple of years ago. First time applying she draws a bull elk and did get one. Now she thinks its easy and she is goign to get a moose tag next and is already planning like its a sure thing. I'm laughing my ass off as I've been applying off an on for 25 years and got neither.
