Boat Title or Registration???

There’s got to be abandoned property laws that apply right? I know of a boat (decent one) that was left in Mobridge for many years. I’d like to claim it too lol.

Went through a title once on a shared boat with both owners passed. It was a mess, the county finally just said sign it and we’ll move on.

With the way the city is handing out citations for junk sitting around you can probably come get it now haha

Why does Government have to be so flipp'n complicated?

This isn't that difficult all you need is a bill of sale from whoever you're buying it from and send that along with the serial numbers to GNF. Doesn't matter who last registered it or when.

I should say in ND anyway not sure how other states work.

Correct. That will not work trying register a MN boat in ND. I had a bill of sale and hull ID and they would not register it. They said since its a MN boat, they need proof of that owner actually owning the boat. NDG&F said along with a bill of sale, they also require a title with that owners name on it or the registration card eith their name on it. When I asked what do I do if I can't get that information, they basically said tough shit.
