Has anyone tried trolling one of these for walleyes. Seems like something that could be quite effective with the look of a bait fish chasing smaller bait. Definitely want to make sure it's not to snagy or it could get expensive quick.

They are around 8 dollars before the crank is added. My thoughts is to use them out on some of the new lakes since a few of the ones I fish are just about snag free. Picked up a couple with the four blades and a couple of these double blades. Figured it was worth a try.

I've been using the umbrella rig for bass around her. If you are casting, make sure you have a rod with some backbone. Those things can get heavy.

I've never put a crank on it, but I imagine it would. I think the weight of the umbrella rig could actually overpower the crank. I usually have 1/4 or 1/8 oz jig heads attached tipped with swim baits.

Yeah it undoubtedly will effect it just not sure which way it will go. The weight would try to drag it deeper but the blades would pull up so could end up being neutral.

"No pole may have more than two lures.

A lure is defined as any man-made object comprised of metal, plastic, wood and/or other nonedible materials made or used to catch fish. A lure may not contain more than three hooks and the maximum distance between any hooks on a lure may not exceed 10 inches. A single hook may not include more than three points, barbed or otherwise. Spinners and other live bait rigs and harnesses are considered a lure and are legal. Hookless dodgers or attractors used ahead of a lure or bait are legal."

So as I understand it an umbrella rig with several jigs and twisters isn't legal? Too many hooks?

Yeah only two on an umbrella rig can have hooks thus why the trailer bait set up works best due the fish targeting the straggler.

I have thrown that boorig for bass with no results whatsoever. Maybe I need to give it more time. I'm starting to think it doesn't work real great in lakes without shad.

Too much garbage for me. Walleye are already hard pressed to fight.

Figured I would rig one up with a swimbait that matches the main forage base of the lake I have in mind. Plan on mapping some of the lake so figured I would drag this around at the same time and see what happens.

I've tried trolling umbrella rigs and it's just too much drag for me. Didn't light the world on fire either as far as catching. That setup looks good though, let us know how it goes.

No Thanks!! I'd rather spend that 8 bucks on one of Dirty Mike's cranks than a contraption like that. Though they do work pretty well for Bluefish and Stripers on the east coast.

I like it ,It's bulky but Willow leaf blades don't have much drag at all, Those 4 would drag about as much as one Colorado blade. I used to stack two spinnerbaits on top of each other on Sakakawea back in the day, About the same drag as a bottom bouncer. Worked like a charm.

That's the thing I think the pics might be a little misleading on its true size. In reality this thing is a bit smaller then a normal bass spinner bait. The blades are only about one inch long.
