Buffalo Lodge Clarity?

Thinking about spearing on Buffalo Lodge lake this weekend. I'm new to Minot and have always heard this is one of the best pike lakes in the state but am wondering if anyone has been there recently and if the water was clear.

It is usually good. I would expect it to be good for you. Great spearing lake.

Good luck getting there. Never gets plowed out. Went Wednesday afternoon to see how close I could get. Didn't chance it but turned around 2 miles from it. Had it been nicer and had I had my suburban I would've give er.

Oh thanks for the heads up, anyone ever been to coal mine lake? I haven't even heard of it till not too long ago but it looks promising.

I called the county guy today. He said they were going to try to have it cleared by mid week. It will most likely be tracks only.

Was out today. 2 of us. 20 northerns. One 26" eye and one 10" eye.

Fished coal mine a few times in the 80s, Only caught perch but they were nice size to Jumbo.

Drove to Coal Mine Lake about 8-10 yrs ago to try spearing it. Water clarity was terrible. Could only see maybe 6 inches. Fished tipups for the day... didn't catch anything. So, I have never been back!

Not sure if that lake is always dirty. If I remember right, it happened to be a bad year for clarity but some years it was separable.
