I think the user numbers are higher than that for cannabis, just a hunch.
I agree. They say now that potency of weed is 100x stronger than in the 60s causing ton of issues with psychosis, psychiatric issues.

I don’t know man. It could be, but 100x?

I don’t know how you can make weed 100x more potent unless you lace it with something. How do you make a strain 100x more potent. Possible? Probably I guess. Definitely NOT a weed guru.

I think there is a little mix of genetics and lacing with other drugs.
Did you know that Carl Spackler came up with his own grass in 1980.
"This is a hybrid… of bluegrass, Kentucky bluegrass, featherbed bent and northern California sensimilla. The amazing stuff about this, is that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and just get stoned to the bejeezus-belt that night on the stuff"

The potency of a cannabinoid is determined by the length of its alkyl side chain, a string of carbon atoms that allows it to attach to the body's cannabinoid receptors. Way beyond shorthairs chemistry classes.

What i can gather is lunk is saying liquor is worse than weed. What was it two days ago in vegas some guy dropped his kid off at school -- took a hit on a vape pen of thc --here is the article:
LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The man charged with fatally hitting a 12-year-old boy near a school last week told Las Vegas police officers that he smoked from a THC vape pen moments before the crash, according to an arrest report.

Oh'Ryan Brooks was arrested for the crash that left Cristofer Suarez critically injured while he was walking to school on Friday. Cristofer later died from his injuries, an attorney representing his family confirmed late Monday night.

Back in the day ------- you bought yourself a 6 pack of hamms or whatever (no light beer). That did you ------ same if you were a smoker you bought a pack of marlboro and you had a smoke after you ate after a long hard day of work and a beer. Maybe if you partied a little you drank your six box on the weekend. Even in my day - you bought a 12 box generally, then it led to a 18 then a case, then to a 30pack and 36 packs and i think costco had 48 packs and then pbr hit the ball out of the park with 180 packs. OMy stomach uggh. Now everybody sits on der ass ---- drink and smoke "lights" your drinking considerably more and the smokers smokin much more than back when. ......back to Tim Mcgraw when a coke was a coke..............

Thats BS propaganda. while it does have a higher THC content now, people use less. If youve ever used weed (I havent!) I hear that its no fun to be TOO high. People use as much is needed to get the result they are seeking. Its like saying alcohol is more harmful if you drink whiskey vs beer. Do you know anyone who drinks the same amount by volume of hard alcohol as others do beer in a night? People use drugs to get an effect, and they use enough to give them the effect they desire, strength of the substance has nothing to do with it.

You sure know a lot for someone who has never done it! lol

"Today's cannabis is significantly more potent and diverse than in the 1960s, with average THC levels rising from about 1% to 30%, and concentrated products reaching nearly 100% THC. While cannabis was a symbol of rebellion in the 60s, use has become more widespread, with increasing use among older adults and a growing industry that offers various products beyond traditional smoking, according to studies and reports. You need to remember there is a ton of other ways to get "weed." Gummies, pills, food etc. Not just smoking it.

"Cannabis use can cause disorientation and sometimes unpleasant thoughts or feelings of anxiety and paranoia.1

People who use cannabis are more likely to develop psychosis (not knowing what is real, hallucinations, and paranoia) and long-lasting mental disorders, including schizophrenia (a type of mental illness where people might hear or see things that are not really there).2 The association between cannabis and schizophrenia is stronger in people who start using cannabis at an earlier age and use cannabis more frequently.2

Cannabis use is also associated with depression; social anxiety; and thoughts of suicide, suicide attempts, and suicide."

Booze might make you puke on your shirt and drive like a dumb azz but....prob not make you nuts! 😁

Booze has a similiar issue --- anxiety sets in when it leaves your body etc ---- if you keep drinking though you never have that issue.

there's no comparing today's weed - let alone "dab" that's popular, with weed of the 70s/80s.
Yoiks, I don't know how today's weed fans do it.

both weed and booze are crutches - wish they didn't exist (in my world - for me anyway). every time I feel that "needing a drink" feeling I feel like a putz for letting the booze tell me what I need, instead of the other way around. Grrr.

They both have their issues when in excess. I think the key for both is moderation. Weed nor alcohol is 100% safe. I just dont get how one is legal over the other. They both can impare and both can cause long term issues if used in excess. So why one illegal and one not?

You're cherry picking short, everyone is different in how their body is affected by taking a drug. I have a predisposition to over indulging anything that gives me pleasure, never did like drinking because i was always a light weight and felt like shit for a few days after, but i smoked pot for about 8 years then i quit because again i have an addictive personality.
Its a fact that people are consuming less alcohol now then ever before might happen to be because of weed, i would rather see someone smoke a joint than drink a bottle of whiskey any day of the week.
One day me and a buddy decided to experiment with how high we could get, the ounce we got was some local home grown. We found out our body's can only get so high, we smoked and smoked all day unitl it was all gone but i never had any adverse effects other then a bad smokers cough from all the tar. If i ever do decide to try consuming, i wont go back to smoking because its really hard on your lungs.
