I am thinking about adding a rod storage locker to my Lund Tyee in the open area u dear the front seat. This will require a few square feet of new carpet. I saw some indoor/outdoor area rugs at menards for pretty cheap. Can anyone think of any issues using something like this?

Two things I can come up with is once you cut the area rug, will it fray and basically fall apart?? Most area rugs aren't made to be cut like carpet. The next question I would have is does the backing of an area rug hold the adhesive like carpet?? Meaning is the stitching on the rug as tight as carpet so the adhesive can bind well. If those two factors are the same, I would think you would be alright.

just get the marine grade stuff at Menards : Lancer Sundancer Indoor/Outdoor Carpet 6 ft. Wide / $1.09 sq.ft.

6ft wide should be plenty have them cut to length ... you should be able just to wrap that whole piece you want to keep as little seams as possible

I used some of this for steps in the garage and it worked great

15 color variations as well

I have vinyl flooring in the ProV, and would never go back to carpet again.

Maybe this would be an option for you.

Another option would be marine Tuff Coat which I used on the floor of my boat. Textured for non skid...easy to apply and provides a nice seal for the wood.

My kid replaced his carpet with the vinyl and he said it was hot as hell on his feet. Although much nicer to clean up and if you have dogs with. A buddy of mine in MN has a bunch of rolls of the best marine carpeting you can buy. Numerous colors. Roll is 100' long I think. Will sell really cheap. He is coming up in october and can bring some.

I would rather pull slivers from my feet than have carpet in my boat... vinyl flooring or a rubber flooring would be my choices (note this is the primary reason I don't like nitro boats because they are fully carpeted)

lots of hate for seadek from people who got gouges, cuts in it from toenails, dropped tackle, etc.
