I wonder how many boats would have to anchor across the marina opening to put an exclamation point on things?

wouldn't surprise me a bit if all the vehicles parked at the ramp are vandalized by the hippy terrorists.

We were using it last fall when all those weirdo's were using the showers, didn't have any problems. They have security, and cameras.

Maybe we can all go down there and block the road going into the marina on the day the tournament starts.... Seems blocking roads is an effective protest strategy these days and the cops dont seem to mind!

I think everyone should spend their hard earned money in the USA, including outdoor adventures, such as fishing tournaments, and gambling. We don't need to financially support disrespectful sovereign nations that harbor and support terrorists and enemies of the USA. Yea, I know its 100% payout at PKC tourney, its just a matter of principles. Make AMERICA Great Again!!!!

Its actually over 100% payout, PKC pays out more than they take in. So if you don't spend a dollar at PKC or the Quick Mart, ALL of your money goes to the winning teams. Basically, your getting in a tournament that just launches out of PKC. So if you plan on using their ramp, why wouldn't you get in the tournament? If you want to boycott the rez, I'm fine with that, but then don't be a hypocrite and use their ramp.

I have never used the PKC ramp, never will either. Hazelton, Beaver, Cattail, or the state line work fine for me. Pretty sure claiming to be water protectors when in reality they are terrorists who caused an environmental disaster is way more hypocritical than a USA citizen using "their" ramp while participating in a peaceful boycott.

NOW THIS IS BEING A HYPOCRITE - 2.4 million pounds of trash left behind by the peaceful prayerful water protectors, including many abused and neglected pets:

“The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers wrapped up its $1.1 million cleanup of the Dakota Access camps on federal land, hauling off 835 dumpsters of remaining trash and debris at the now-vacant site once occupied by thousands of protesters,” reports Valerie Richardson for the Washington Times.
Corps Capt. Ryan Hignight said a total of 8,170 cubic yards of debris were removed from the three camps — Sacred Stone, Oceti Sakowin and Rosebud — all located within the floodplain on federally managed land.
It can be hard to wrap your arms around just how much trash we’re talking about. To put that cubic yards figure from the Army Corps into context, according to estimates used by the landfill industry a cubic yard of loose waste can weigh 250-350 pounds. So if we assume that each cubic yard of trash hauled from the #NoDAPL camps averaged about 3oo pounds we’re left with some 2.4 million pounds of trash hauled away.

Does the casino pay taxes to our state, or the federal government?
Is the ramp maintained by the casino, was it put in by the casino? If so where did the funds for the ramp come from? Are natives allowed to use non native boat ramps and state highways?

I guess I am unclear of how using the ramp next to the casino should not be used if I don't gamble or purchase products from it.

Only a hypocrite if your stop and buy gas and bait from DAPL Dave then stop for a nice seafood dinner at casino on the way home. How does just using their ramp benefit them?

It doesn't benefit PKC, It benefits YOU! That's the point. If you want to boycott PKC fine, I have no problem with it. The tribe made their bed and its time to sleep in it. But if you can't see that its hypocritical to use PKC for YOUR benefit, and then bash them, boycott them and run them down, then its pointless to converse with you. Nonsensical!

Yes the casino paid for the ramp and maintence. I know for a fact they paid for a new dock. I'm not sure if they got any Federal grants or not for the ramp when they built it.

I also didn't know there were levels of hypocrisy. But what ever. Justify it in your head any way you want, JUST LIKE THE PROTESTERS. It was my point from the beginning, that you aren't supporting PKC by just using their ramp, or for getting in the tournament, since all your money is paid out. But IMO, if you want to bash PKC, and run down everything PKC, then just stay the F out. Oh, and if PKC shuts down, so will the ramp.

BTW I could care less about the tournament they host. I fished it once, and had to be talked into it.

They may promise a big pay out at their tournaments but they are lying cheats that don't want to pay out anyway... I won't spend any money on a reservation anymore and I work near parshall and I will drive 30 min out of my way to not get gas on the rez

I still plan on fishing the Devils Lake TOurney. PKC Tourney undecided but highly unlikely at this point.

I don't fish as many tournaments today as I did back in my younger days but I have to admit that the Spirit Lake Casino tournament has been my favorite tournament to fish. If I was able to get away for one weekend and fish a tournament, the SLC tournament was the one for me. I am going to miss not fishing it this year but as my previous posts have indicated, at some point, you have to take a stand in some way/shape/form against the actions that the Tribe started and allowed to continue/escalate. I understand this is a very small gesture but it is at least something.

When a person steps back and actually thinks about what went on, it still make my blood boil. L.E.O. and Guardsman being spit on, assaulted, families being harassed, and their integrity getting called into question for doing their job is beyond reprehensible. Also, factor in what could have happened if the LEO and Guardsman didn't show tremendous restraint while their limits were being tested each and every day.

My question is to what extent would have the Tribe had to take things for us to be willing to make a small sacrifice and not participate in a Casino Run tournament?
