Central ND snow storm, will this lead to bad ice?

So central nd is looking at 8-14 inches of snow, will this lead to bad ice since lakes are not frozen yet?

I havent seen water to know if lakes are even froze over to hold snow. Maybe deeper water is still open? Im hoping we get high winds to blow snow off.

There's black guys everywhere!! Ice, I mean black Ice. Was raining on my way to work at 7:30 and wow it was slippery because of the black guys.... Ice I mean Ice

I was worried it will lead to slush on top of lake that might freeze into a bad ice but I have no idea

Some smaller lakes in central ND are iced over. With the wind most of the snow will slide right off I'd assume.

dang, I looked at metigoshe yesterday morning and thought for sure it was froze over

The best thing that will come out of this weather system is the halt to cattail burning.

Audobon, Brekken, east sak, and scooby lake were all still open. Way back on nelson bay there was about 100 yards of ice. All the little sloughs were froze over. Hopefully this wind keeps them open until after the snowfall

I'll be happy to have the moisture and glad the lakes aren't iced over yet or the snow could really hamper ice development.
