I wanted a light weight long range rifle for my arsenal a couple of years ago. Looked at CA amongst others and ended up buying a Fierce Firearms CT Edge. Was a little skeptical because the price was rivaling a custom built rig. Took about 3-4 months to get after I ordered it. I topped it with a Night Force NX8 4-32x50mm and have been nothing but impressed with the combo. It shoots absolutely lights out. It's definitely a better gun than I am a shooter but I have complete confidence sending off the shelf Hornady lead down range out to a 1k yds. I'm sure it's capable of more, I've just yet to test my own skills beyond that! I do have one complaint, it came with a radial break which is fine on the bench but sucks in the field as it blows dirt, dust, and debris back in your face when laying prone. I know they make a break with only side discharge which I need to check into. Good luck.

What caliber?

I would shoot it suppressed so I'm not too concerned with the brake.

6.5 PRC shooting 147 ELDM's

One thing I liked about the Fierce was the 1/2 MOA guarantee. With that said mine shoots really well. I have no idea how they are to deal with if you need warranty or you had a gun that wouldn't group.

I have 5 Kimber rifles in various models and calibers. Every single one shoots better than I do. I'm a huge Kimber fan!

Having said that I will say that my next "mountain rifle" will probably be either a NULA or a Barrett fieldcraft.

PS: Don't tell the wife...

This little thing intrigues me as well. https://christensenarms.com/ridgeline-scout/

yeah I think I just had a lemon rifle is all. Kimber took care of me on the deal . I do have ultralight arms rifles and they are very good. The full length bedding on the stocks is really nice and the rifles can take a beating and still shoot.

My 2 cents on Christensen Arms and a few of my buddies. When they first came out many years ago we all bought different models and we were not happy. Got rid of them to say the least. Now many years later after a lot of changes they have made and in talking to a few more boys their product is better. I wanted to try a carbon wrapped barrel gun and the process they use is top notch. After holding a Traverse which I need for the check piece to fit me proper for cheek weld the gun just fits me and balances really nice off hand. I have the 7mmag and it took me some time to get it to shoot as I like which it does with handloads. Around 1/4" moa a 100yds and 600 yds it will do 2" so for me I was happy for $2100 gun. I see they have gone up in price this year.

My dad bought me a Forbes Ultra way back when and it is a mighty fine rig, drug it all over North America very happy with it.

I just emailed barrett and they said they don't plan on brining the fieldcraft rifles back anytime soon which sucks. Been eyeing the nosler rifles some but i just don't have the budget for one.

I've heard, you know how that is, that as soon as they fulfill their government contracts they're going to start to make them again. It's a shame they aren't making them right now as they are excellent rifles! I guess you have to go where the money is.

I definitely am kicking myself for not picking up a fieldcraft when they were in production. The email actually stated "There are currently no plans to bring the fieldcraft rifle back. Due to the demand of our mk22 contract rifles we had to slim down our rifle offerings."

The nosler m48 mountain in either 6.5 prc or 27 nosler is my current if i had to much money gun. i would be a little worried about the 27 nosler recoil in a 6 pound gun but suppressing it should take care of that.

Bad picture but the only one I have on my phone of my 6.5prc seekins havak shadow. Only have 10 rounds down the tube so far but it shot damn well after I got it dialed in. Almost positive it’ll be a tack driver once I get the right load worked up for it.

I have the Ridgeline in 300WM & haven't had any issues with it very nice shooter, pretty loud with the muzzle break on it but you put the cap on instead & it's fine. Nice to carry in the mountains, Only issue (if you call it that) is for some reason it doesn't like once fired brass sometimes, I follow the same process I use on every other reload I do & sometimes the shell sticks in the pipe & I just can't figure out why. New stuff first time through the sizing die no problems. As far as the rifle it's awesome a little spendy but what isn't. Good luck you won't regret it

I have had that sticking issue twice. Both time it was a factory chipped reamer that left a ridge in the chamber. The first was a stainless Remington 700 in 243. That ridge was so bad it sometimes cut the brass in half. A week later I took it to Scheels and they gave me a new rifle. The second rifle was a Ruger Predator 308 Win with an 18 inch barrel. That one had a rough chamber in the front half with multiple small ridges. I shot it for a year loaded down. One day I shot a factory and it lodged tight. I took it to the local sport shop and a month later got it back with a new barrel.

Not sure why it would accur with once fired. Still thinking about that.

The "New" in NULA came about when Melvin re-acquired the whole works from Colt post failed "Colt Light Rifle". Colt cut 2 corners vs. the original ULA that they bought. They molded the floppiest Tupperware stock in the history of synthetic stocks and used a TERRIBLE heavy creepy trigger with no adjustability. Light rifles require a light touch from the shooter to shoot well consistently and that trigger from Colt sealed their fate. A 5#-7# non-adjustable trigger on a ~7#-7.5# rifle/scope package is a recipe for frustration.
