Hey everyone!

So I just ordered a ConnectScale, (I got accepted to be on there Pro Staff but I'm not here trying to sell it or shove it down your throats or anything)

I thought what I'm about to write would interest a lot of you though, V might find this very interesting as well...

Online fishing tournaments, I have a big feeling are going to be the new craze... Look how successful V does with the ice fishing tournament!

Well what this ConnectScale does its a Bluetooth scale, (if you still own a flip phone or don't own a smart phone you can stop reading now ;:;rofl:;:stirthepot)

Each time you catch a fish, the ConnectScale will send the weight of your fish to the app on your cell phone through Bluetooth!! It will log where you caught the fish with a time and date stamp.

They have partnered up with the FatSack app that does online tournaments, I thought this would be a neat way to host the ice fishing contest or any other contest for that matter.
*Disclamer the FatSack app is still in BETA testing mode, hopefully by May they will have the working version released!

Of course everyone would have to order one,
Like I said I just placed my order, I'll give an honest review once it comes in!

if your interested in ordering one please use my link.

Heres some pics of the FatSack app, its realitvily new but still in BETA

Heres were you can create a tournament and set it up based on weight, count or length,

you can see on the bottom you can set up as private and create a invite code so only us NDA people can be in it!

Heres a tournament that is already completed and it was based on Count

You can see Chris won the tournament, even though John outweigh him because it was based on catches

Still gonna have to be really honest. It would be really easy to cheat the scale. A pic on a measuring board harder to cheat IMO.

Agreed and in asked the owner of connectscale and this is what he said quote

"Ultimately it will be up to tournament sponsors on rules but we will have standard rules/verification Something like must also have Photo showing full Catch and weight showing on scale. We will also conduct polygraph test for larger payouts and large fines if caught.

Later we will have video streaming/database so users will be asked to record it."

Does it prompt you for a photo to connect to the catch?

Neat idea. Still hard to beat length as a standard for online events.

Yep in order to summit the catch to the app you have to snap a picture as well

I think I'm going to start a new thread for a tournament I will be trying to host in June sometime, I'll be the guinea pig and try this out!!

We will regret all this technology at some point in the near future, but don't quit adapting to change.

Agreed. At some point it will ruin fishing and regulations for it may be needed. As for now, it's fun.

Agree! It's insane what's on the market... My biggest pet peeves are HydroWave and that bait ball thing... No different than sitting in a tree stand with a bag of cracked corn below you waiting for the deer to come to you...

If you physically have to add something(other than your lure) to the water to attract the fish.... Your not fishing.. your trapping....

I'm sure if the online tournaments get out of hand they will have to be regulated somehow but for know I don't think very many people are involved and it's affecting anything...
