I don't eat mushrooms that have "deadly look-alikes" - I stick to the "safe" ones like morels, shaggy manes, chickens, hens, lobsters, etc.

Jack Rabbit is horrible. Back in the college days we popped one and took out the back legs. Barbecued up and looked really good. Looks were deceiving as it was gamey, stringy and tough to chew.

I was always told to never eat them as they are bug infested. Cotton tails on the other hand are great table fare

All 4 of us had some without ill results besides horrible table fare. I have no inkling to take another run at it.
