Creek Chubs

Lycan, just keep working that creek and you'll find a pool with more chubs than shiners sooner or later. I went out to tobacco gardens last week and fished the creeks with Beminoid (Dusty) for creek chubs and after about 4 or 5 spots we hit the mother load for hook n line. I was catching them as fast as I could un-hook and re-cast.

There is a lot of flooding going on where I catch them. I've never had much luck when there's a lot of current.

How often do you check your traps? I've gotten endless fatheads this year, no Creek Chubs though.

It's best to check them daily, If you wait too many days they seem to get out. Every other day is usually good.

I know thisbis an older thread, but where in Minot can ypu catch chubs? Or outside minot

I found its best to locate heavy concentrations of chubs with a fishin pole, tiny ice jig, a bobber & worm. A good spot you should be able to hook 3 to 5 per minute. I'll bait and set a trap while I fish, check it 30 minutes later and it should be full, any longer than an hour the food is gone and they start swimming out. If I don't get a bite in a spot within 2 or 3 minutes theres none there
