I have an issue with the wage if its substantially higher then the private sector..private cant compete...it also makes my insane taxes even higher..like i posted in another section i could have purchased a dam nice vehicle for the amount i paid in federal taxes ti support inflated wages...i am not against a decent living though..that why it should be within a percentsge of private..i do get where the union wages show 44 an hour or more therefore justifying the higher govt wage. I would argue that the perks of working for the feds could justify a lower wage as the perks/benefits are of value. For the record i have nothing against the wages that are posted, my gripe is with the overall beurocratic process of holding people accountable for shitty workmanship, again federal or state employees should be held to a higher standing and if they cannot perform to that standard they should be able to be fired ASAP. Federal or state workers believe their job security is never in question and those with sub par work ethic should be let go. One only needs to use California as an example of incompetence when it comes to sub par accountability, and i am afraid by those who are sticking up for removing waste and terminating bad employees tells me they dont think there is a problem.
My mental competence is just fine and my point stands. Government workers are spending every other tax payers money.
FYI, they periodically open and close the gates to make sure that they function properly.Do you want it to work when it has to?
I think the actual question should have been: Do you want Garrison Dam to remain standing after something close to a Probable Maximum Flood?FYI, they periodically open and close the gates to make sure that they function properly.
Well...I would've let me stay in the in the Farce for my planned 26yrs; not cut the F22 and the lazer 747. "We" were all "Doged" by Obammy. You think the only meter in a powerhouse is a lake level meter? There’s private hydro out there as well. And private power utilities have a stake in the Garrison dam’s output as well, keeping your bills down. Room temperature IQ’s willing to bite the hand that feeds just to prove their republican-ness.
Tell me, what would you have done differently in 2011?
Tear it down start over...only one button pusher when done......I think the actual question should have been: Do you want Garrison Dam to remain standing after something close to a Probable Maximum Flood?
This is the main thing driving the upcoming work on Garrison Dam. One must remember that when the dam was originally designed and built, they only had 30 to 40-some years worth of hydrologic data. Now, there's over 100 years of data and the current design for the emergency spillway is not large enough to safely pass a Probable Maximum Flood.

If it does V, hope and pray it doesn't happen in our lifetime...once was enough!Yup. Mother nature always wins.
It’ll wipe out the “flood control” that Minot installed too. Just a matter of time.
Really - so a 25% pay gap between government employees pay and their private sector counterparts is not enough?I think all federal employees need their wages reviewed also...i have a couple friends who work gov and are paid way more then they are worth...comes out of our pocket. I believe the dept of transporatation employees average around 110k. I am not against a good income but when tax payors are funding it they need to be within reason.
