The key to winning a few tournaments is assholishness and a bit of sneakishassholishness.
My motto is; its nice to be important, but more important to be nice.
If you're a winner because of lying and cheating, turns out you are a loser. Something we for some reason no longer teach our children, especially fatherless children.

I guess what I am saying is they will die on what they think is a big fish spot to get a big buzzer beater or two vs running to a dink hole.

I forgot about day one. If they were in the middle of the pack this morning it's go big or stay home tomorrow.
Win, Lose or draw My tournament mentality is 30th place sucks but 31st place sucks worse.

Sad but true, I've seen kids tell this to their parents but the parents would have no part of it because they wanted what was best for their kids.

I'm sure they could have, but what would be the point except having 5 fish? Still too far out to do any damage whether you bring in 4 lbs or 7. A lot of tourney guys won't keep a fish unless it is of a minimum size as part of their game plan.

They could keep 8 and weigh 5. Pretty piss poor strategy to not weigh a limit.

I find it comical with all the controversy about crossing 281. nwt should have set the boundry to nothing west of 281 and nothing north of 2. Since they didnt, game on. Next year tourney boundries will be set i bet. ptetty funny how a lot of "pros" gotta try to get to these places to get fish. Plenty of good fish in good ole devils lake, in fact i'd be willing to bet a handsome sum that the winner wont be way north or west.

Were any rules broken? If so, what rule, and who broke it?

My strategy would be not to fill the box full of dinks so I wouldn't end up catching big fish later that I would have to throw back

I tell you KurtR the honest truth I have no idea, I would never accuse anyone, I saw the name mark martin tried to make a humor of it, I didn't realize that Pinecone was upset. I hope this gets all figured out because I believe a nationally recognized walleye tournament will get this thing figured out ASAP. Nothing worse than cheaters and people's with multiple personality disorders. Sorry Pinecone

not upset

I never fished the lake I don't remember what yr in the 90s but I got talked into fishing the chamber. Never really fished walleye but was good with a bait caster and bass. Went up tied a fat crank on and everybody laughed. Didn't have a hot spot either. We didn't win but we won money plaque. Alot of it is just being at the right place and doing something a little different and luck. That fat rap caught the majority of the weigh fish and tg I didn't lose it as I only had one like it

So on walleye central they said the only pro who went through there was the guy in 4th who i also happen to know. This is turning into a real shit show. A company was hired to dig it at 2am that is some real fly by shit there. I know if some one wanted me to take the ho out at that time it would not happen

it would have to be a track hoe brought in from the minnewauken side to get over the rocks. I would bet there are guides involved in all this as well.

I have yet to meet an honest guide on devils lake. Bunch of fat idiots like zippy up there. The minnewauken guides are real dicks too.

Even the guy who used to be on fishing buddy I believe his name was Eric cant remember his user name. Seemed like a good guy to me. Jonnie Candle also seems like a good person the little i have talked and know him. Neither of them seemed fat. So is it just the fat guys that are dis honest idiots or are skinny guides cock suckers to? I wonder if the short ones are maybe the only honest ones

The guides on DL are an issue that never get brought up by the G&F or the local community. These guys don't give a hoot about the longevity or long term sustainability of the fishery. The perch patrol and minnewaukan guides will fish out spots completely in the winter all in the name of the almighty dollar. This "commercial" aspect takes a lot of the fun out of the outdoor experience much as it does with the hunting in areas that you cant get on land without being a big dollar person.

I just wish there was something as far as limiting how much of this was allowed to go on around this area. Total disregard to size/numbers/etc taken.

Of course the NDGF doesnt care about this because of the money they are making. They had another record year of NR fishing license sales. The fishing is their cash cow now since they sold out on the deer.

On a positive note, lake Alice is off limits to all guides.
