Here's a stupid question, how much fuel does one of those burn in a weekend?

I've never owned a big, fast, fishing boat but I had a big block, injected, twin tubo Chevy ski boat with a 40 gal tank. It was good for 3.5 hours to a an hour and a half or so depending on what I was doing. Good times but expensive...

if you can afford a boat like that I'm guessing you're not too worried about how much fuel you are using...

A reasonable formula for fuel usage is: Max HP/10 = Gallons per Hour @ WOT (Wide Open Throttle) give or take.

So, that 300HP Yamaha on the boat pictured above will burn roughly 30Gal per Hr wide-open and be running upper 50's to ~60MPH. Another very rough rule of thumb is that most boats have about a 2hr supply of fuel @ WOT.

Thanks for the heads up! I actually brought the new rig home last night.

2015 Ranger 1880 with Yamaha 175/9.9. Lowrance graphs and a (sad face) terrova 80.

shes wedged in there. I have about 3 feet behind the motor, but I had to trim it down to fit under the 7' door.

I agree with Dirty Mike--- He talked me into one of those storage units from Amazon for my ice fishing stuff and it is amazing. Saves a ton of space.

I stopped by to see the new rig the other night, but Dirtymike was nowhere to be seen, and had left his wife home alone.

Let's see where this goes.

Annd.. GO!
