Sorry. I believe you are right. Also there was something about the volunteer Russian Olives getting to abundant. That disturbed their romance.

Right, I don't think they like to hang out under roosts for birds of prey.

They (prairie chickens) did have local success in the 90s-2000s with some habitat conservation efforts. I read too that they hybridize themselves out of existence with shaptails. Not much you can do about that.

Sage grouse just aren’t tolerant of broken habitat. West Nile did a number on them and they can’t rebound.
