I think they are making some drones that are waterproof and float now also. 'Drones' really arent anything new, people have been flying remote control airplanes with cameras attached for decades already. They are just a lot easier to operate now!

But it doesnt say anything about FISHING!!!! Pike fishing via drone would be fun.... Not much else aggressive enough to make it work Im guessing tho

Correct, I was answering 1PO directly.

The really serious Tuna fishermen hire charter planes to fly and find the schools of Tuna then radio to the boat where they need to go. Given that, I'm completely fine with shore fishermen using a drone to increase their casting distance. I couldn't afford the fuel for a suitable Tuna boat, let alone the boat itself or the $$ for the chartered aircraft to direct you. I could probably swing a bait drone through.

I wonder what happens to the radius boat fishermen are supposed to give to shore fishermen when a drone is involved?

I don't know anything about the waterproof factor, but you're definitely right. They're easier than ever to fly. I have four electric heli's, three of which have counter-rotating main rotors, and these new drones are pretty "hands-off" by comparison.

A "regular" heli with cyclic and a tail rotor, is quite a handful.

Here
I believe the OP to be a fine idea with zero ethic issues. The angler seems a bit afraid of saltwater as he easily could've preserved spool depth. I'd like to "blind cast" this technique with a jerkbait. I suppose this could be effective on Sak salmon within reason and courtesy.
