What I was getting to is what if you meet someone hauling a## towards you.

Do you pull over, close all of your vents, etc. Wait 39 minutes for all of the dust to settle and then proceed? :;:muahaha


One of my earlier bosses actually used to do that -- pull over and stop and shut off the engine and wait for the dust to settle.

I think he was an odd duck. Quack Quack Quack!

A fan inside the box pressuring would eliminate that issue,I am going to do some testing with a manometer to find what the level of depressurizaton is at various speeds to see how big of fan is needed to overcome it,had this on the back burner long enough.

Wouldn't that have the potential of drawing in more dust.
Assuming the box isn't fully sealed while under pressure from the fan, some air will leak out.
If some air leaks out doesn't something have to come back in?
Perhaps it would be better than w/o the fan. ?

Interesting idea.

By pressurizing inside the box equal or slightly greater than depressurization it should not allow any significant amount in,we use similar techniques in weatherization using a blower door for diagnostic testing of homes.But I haven't run the test to see how much it varies at different speeds,might be able to vary fan speed with rheostat,have to get on that testing.

I have a F250 that has the cover, and tailgate seal, and was also lined after purchase with an aftermarket spray in liner. It is virtually dust free. My F150 with a tailgate seal(daily driver), and no bed liner is a damn dusty mess, I swear half the road comes home with me when out in the country.
