Somebody's got a lil sand in their giner. Looks like we have our first official tool of NDA, congrats you earned it.

I fished the DWC much like I do every year but this year was horrible in time management and the length of time it took getting boats on the water. First they need to open boat inspection earlier in the morning and don't let 2nd flight boats through until the first flight is finished.... yes it would be hard to do but they don't need to be on the water an hour before their launch time. Second they need to go to a shotgun start. Majority of boats on the water are big glass boats now and we are all smart enough to launch safely. Gov cup does it with 62 boats/flight with no issues and the van hook tournament does it with 132 boats safely. Keep it at two 90 boat flights and launch us all at the same time and that also allows everyone the same fishing time. 15 minutes between the first and last boat is a big difference. This is just my opinion but I have heard this echoed by many of the people who fished this year.

.

I'm not running this premier website d bag. If I was I would have had the results for the tourneys up the last two weeks a little faster instead of coming on here to give others thumbs up, because I know the reputation system is so much more important than anything else on here to guys like u. Thumbs up, dumber than dumb itself.

Lol, put your big girl panties on or go back to FBO.

The big lake a biaaaatch. We were on nice fish Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Released numerous fish over 22 inches, lots of fat 18-22 inchers caught as well. That thunderstorm and front messed things up, as the next 2 days were tough. We caught fish, but those nice ones turned into 15 to 17 inchers. That lake always kicks my ass! :;:huh

So... silver bullet you think the thumbs up is stupid, but you're ok with using the reputation system? Lol, go have another coors and chill out.

That's what the guys I know who fished it said too. Tough fishing for sure.

I've fished that body of water my entire life...if there is 1 guarantee about the big lake its that as soon as you think you've got it figured out, it will inevitably give you a lesson in humility.

I thought the DWC went well. Fishing was pretty good, not like it was during the week but you could still catch a bunch of fish each day. It was just tough to catch anything over 20". We made the top ten the first day with a weight I thought was very doable to do each day. But we couldn't catch a 20+ inch fish to save our souls the second day and ended up finishing in the top 15. Man I feel for the Wrights, .03 of a pound for first place dang! We'll get em next year!
They really should start checking boats at 530 or so instead of 6. And a shotgun start on the main lake would be fun! ;)
Here are a couple photos from the tourney I took, you'd swear they were giving away rangers some place there were so many! See ya next year!

That is what I heard from the people I talked to, that practice was great and the tournament sucked. As the week went on my fishing got worse. Thursday I had one 15 3/4! But I made a plan and stuck to it and paid off. I also was wondering why we had to sit in line and wait for 6:00 to get the boat checked. Then listen to "the no wake past the pontoon". Just let us go and have one wake instead of 180. Same thing different year. ;:;banghead I had to thank the yarcraft that pushed me on better fish Saturday and my wife who would rather livebait than crank.

Plain Skeeter, Glad you and the wife did well, she was pulling them in left and right! I was wondering if there would be anything left! You about wore that net out! Truth be told, I was dealing with graph issues in the bow of the boat, which caused me to be distracted, and thus not doing a very good job of watching where I was going! As for our result, we had 10.9 the first day and 12.7 the second for a 8th place finish. Happy with the results, though I thought the weights were way down.

In years past I have met some real D-Bags during this tournament but not this year. It was a pleasure fishing around you guys. Congrats on the finish but boy do I wish I had that 26" you got there. :;:cheers

Grainbelt and I had several chats about the boat inspection process. I figure that they could either start earlier and/or divert 2nd flight boats to the parking area until first flight was done. Get there at 6 if you are in the 2nd flight if you want, but wait someplace out of the way. They could also allow you to come in on the water like they used too. Would get some boats diverted to Dakota Waters or even Hazen Bay or Beaver Bay. Not sure why they quit doing that.

As far the launch, I don't have a problem with single file. We were boat 77 and left 15 minutes after boat 1 on day one. Left 15 minutes before them on day 2. So fishing time ends up being even if you are paying attention. One of the reasons I won't fish the governors cup is because of the shotgun start. People in these race cars on water and half don't know how to run them safely. Only a matter of time before someone gets hurt. We have never had a problem getting out of Beulah Bay, except last year. That had nothing to do with how they launch boats.

Graney we all understand!
As far as if you don't want to be in the race on a shotgun start because you are scared of being in an accident wait a minute or two after the thoroughbreds take off then. we used to do that with the 16ft yar-craft back in the day. This single file crap sucks when you are leaving a big bay, 2 years ago we almost got dynamited from behind because the guy ahead of us was in a little boat and once he hit the waves just stopped 50 yards past the pontoon so we were between that and a 621 comin hard. The water will be better waiting 2 minutes after the gun goes off than single filing it. Plus its got to be better than 15-25 minutes sitting in line. i think have 3 flights 3 staging areas with a shotgun start at 7, 7:30, and 8. have designated area for each flight further back on the road with 2 checkin people at each flights area. don't let them approach the turn by the cleaning station until it is their flights turn if you are team 176 you don't need to be waiting by cleaning station at 6 so everyone has to drive around you. keep the boats in a zone if they go by it early back of the line just like pre-school. the mouth of the bay is big enough to launch 60-100 boats between the island and east point. That and move the ramps out of the water so you can unload 3 boats minimum at once and have 2 pick up places for getting the guy in the truck one on each side of the ramp like before.
