In front.
I need to generate a Schedule F (aka profit/loss from farming/ranching activities) for the next three years. What I'm working with and other tid bits:

1. Only dealing with 10 acres +or- (so livestock it is). Not garden type dirt but the property is quality, protected, grassy, tree rows, good fences, outbuildings, water, power, etc.
2. I need/want to legitimately turn a profit. (I understand I'm not guaranteed this, and it may take a few years to get there with set up costs)
3. I don't want to HAVE to go out there EVERY day. (I can set up a camera system mid property and basically see every corner if need be. Fwiw)

I don't have a tractor.

Doable? What's the answer? Chickens? Pigs? A pair-o-steers? Beehives :;:smokin?

Keep it small, keep it simple, keep it profitable, keep it legit. Thanks.

I wish Kenney Chesney used Melissa Sue Anderson in his tractor video.

I, like many on here i assume; am always looking to buy a 1/4 or 1/2 beef to fill the freezers up if you wanna expand into butchering as well..
other than that, I think we could make a shetland pony rodeo and/or pig wrestling a pretty neat time. (Dudes are excluded and bikinis are required)

Buy calves at about 400# in spring and put them on pasture, sell in fall. You should be able to handle 5 or 6.

Alpaca or sheep. They require little room. you'll need to learn to sheer but you get two harvests. Grandpa paid off the farm with sheep. After a couple years, ewes will start having twins.

Regardless of your livestock, I'd be concerned about yotes.

I'd go with alpaca. Less chance for producing weird offspring.

Drag a butt load of car bodies out there. Pigs love them for shelter and with the seats out the babies use the trunk area much like a farrowing crate.

Buy 3 of every type of livestock and start making meth in the outbuilding. Everyone will think you're so f*cking crazy that they won't want to question you.
