Want to try fishing the Red this weekend with my boat. I'm out of Fargo but was thinking I would head up to the Grand Forks area. Can anyone tell me of any good boat ramps in that area or ramps that I should stay away from? Any other advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Curious, why don't you want to fish it out of Fargo? What species are you after?

The boat ramp by Cabela's is good if you want to fish South, and they have a real nice floating dock. Can get bait right at Cabela's if they have any. The boat ramp off Old Mill Road if you want to fish North, and they just have a single dock there. You can get your bait at Home of Economy close by.

I'm planning to fish one rod for catfish and I'll play with one rod to just see what I can catch. The reason I was thinking of heading north is the river seems so much wider up there and it will just be a change of scenery. Something new.

I know people who use the ramp off Old Mill Road. They love putting in their boat there.
