Utah had face recognition and license plate cameras 15 years ago, but they couldn't look at them for my pickup that was stolen. I never did get an answer why not.
Do you think the government will just announce that they're creating a massive surveillance state? No. It's done incrementally, and by claiming good intentions. It's already been proven that they do a lot more than read license plate numbers, and it's only going to get worse if we allow it. Go read Orwell's "1984" and let us know if that's how you want to live.Correct me if I am wrong, but these Flock cameras are not used to issue speeding tickets or citations for running red lights, etc. They only read license plate numbers. What's the problem with that?
The government having access should scare you even more. The fact that a private company gets all the data scares me.
