Kids already get lunch, regardless if they are poor or rich, that passed a few years ago. If #2 passes, parents who do qualify for federal assistance will have no motivation to sign up for it anymore, thus the taxpayers of ND will pick up this entire burden unnecessarily.

Why don't they get supper too? And throw in a couple of snacks too you heartless bastards.

Also, its bullshit that I have to buy school supplies and clothing for them to wear to school. And who the hell is supposed to feed my kids on the weekends? Seriously!

I'm fortunate to have the means to pay for kids' school breakfast and lunch. Not everyone has that ability, or ability to navigate the system to make it possible. This eliminates that for them. I'm in support of measure 2.

On measure one, I'm still debating internally in my head which is a scary spot to be.

There is no navigation required. Whomever wants to eat, eats. If there are kids going hungry, it is not because of our current meal structure

Measure #2.....There is no such thing as a free lunch. The low-income households with children already get free lunches. This bill will only add millions of dollars to support to the socialist agenda. Why should every child, regardless of household income, get free breakfasts and lunches at the expense of all taxpayers.

Vote NO on measure 2
Using that logic, Why is that our legislators get three free meals every day of the legislative session?

I work in a school. Voting YES on it.

What would Jesus do? (If you believe in that sort of thing).
Answer: He would feed the hungry.

I suppose you could always pray that the measure fails?

This is a very good point.
Who is going to feed the kids on the weekends, and over Christmas break? And over summer break?
Do we or do we not have a childhood obesity problem already?

These programs payed for with our tax dollars already provide food for kids. But yes, let’s pay for another one.

The National School Lunch Program, SNAP and ND has a School Nutrition Program which includes: School Breakfast Program / National School Lunch Program / Special Milk Program / After School Snack Program.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, teach a man to catch his own fish and he will eat for a lifetime.

Sorry to defend our brilliant legislators and correct your post but only out of town legislators here on legislative work get a $45. per day allowance. Local legislators don't get reimbursed for meals. Besides the legislators are working and it's part of their expenses. School children with wealthy parents shouldn't get free taxpayer funded meals. Just another socialist program that will take us down the road to hell.

I BELEIVE in Jesus but I don't believe in Socialism...It ruins every country that has tried it. State controlled socialist economies have a tract record or severe economic and political failure. I have never seen an Ethiopian looking school kid in ND in my life. Maybe in other countries children need free food but our system already has numerous food programs for ANY and ALL hungry school children. Vote NO
