I stepped out of the fish house to take a deuce next to some guys permanent shack, and when a came back in my pole was bent down, I set the hook and reeled up all giddy to find my buddies depth weight attached to the jig. In all my excitement I didn't notice the no fight dead weight retrieve, he still laughs at me and my child like excitement.

The pooping next to an ice house us a running spoof. He is playing off of your response, since Wisconsin folks getting caught poaching in ND is also an ongoing ... thing. Dont take it personal. All in good fun.

Had a buddy that put crazy names to different fish, like small walleyes caught on cranks always pop to the surface (water skiers) Pike were norskies; bullheads were bullgabbers. Small pike were skipjacks. Well we are fishing on Mundt lake by Lear pulling spinners with bottom bouncers and I hit something big. It would move and if I gave it a little line you could feel the head shake. Well I fought this fish for a good 15 minutes making a little headway every now and then. Finely getting it to the rear of the boat for him to net.He looks over the back and says you got a scoopshovel and I say what the hell is a scoopshovel, he reaches down and pulls up a half rusted out #10 steel scoopshovel. I guess when ever I would give a little line it would slide from side to side causing the headshake. Best dam fight I have ever had. Took it to a car wash and got all the gunk off, varnished it and putt it on the wall in my den. :;:rockit
