I drilled right into a shit hole once, that was not neat. However as a former smoker, that guy needs to either smoke or quit, I would have had 40 butts on the ice back in the day, and at least 12 piss spot stains, and a sunflower seeds every fucking inch of that area.

Every part of this post makes me laugh. Seriously. My head is going to explode, thinking about pulling the auger up and Juanner saying "WTF IS this?".

And covering every inch with spits... hahahaha OMG .. I am laughing like a stupid hyena right now. People think I've lost my mind...

I think the difference between littering and acceptable is if it is biodegradable or just human made shit that wont break down….

That's why I fill my empty beer cans with water and let them sink to the bottom of the lake. ;:;boozerYou know "out of site out of mind" so no one gets mad at me. :;:

Pick up your garbage and pack it home. Or in JaunR's case pick up your shit. ;:;rofl

People are garbage.
I walk the same 1/2 mile of gravel with my dog every day, and just about every day there's something new to pick up. I can't tell you how many Busch lite cans I've picked up, but I do sometimes fantasize about melting them all down, forming a hammer, and then murdering every littering asshole I encounter with it.

Oh, and apparently, the Sheyenne Diversion is the perfect place to get rid of things you don't want.
Over the years, I've found pallets, concrete chunks, a vacuum cleaner, discarded house plants, a 6ft spruce tree, two dead rabbits in plastic grocery bags, and what looks like the leftovers from an entire picnic. -- And that's just the particularly atrocious crap off the top of my head.

What blows my mind is the number of dumpsters and other trash receptacles these shit bags must have driven by to go dump their crap in the diversion. It's like some people go out of their way to be the scum of the earth.

If I took pictures of the garbage people leave behind on our local shorelines ....Well lets just say it wouldn't be pretty.

The other day I drove my the river in three places. The PKC Casino, then drove south and drove in by the Group Home, right north of where Porcupine creek, and then drove in just north of Slaughterhouse bay, by the cemetery right by that rocky point. On that last drive in someone dumped about 8 huge garbage bags of household items. It would take 2 or 3 pickup loads to haul it out. SMH

Probably those wonderful "water protectors" I've heard about.

The reason I asked about pinched off minnows is I was wondering it it is considered litter. In the proclamation it states that no part of the fish can be left on the ice, well is bait considered that? I do know a young warden that just might be anal enough to ticket someone for that. I don't really consider it litter.

nothing to be said by me that wasn't already said cept this... minnows or minnow parts don't bother me on the ice. well they do. sort of. but, considering they specifically tell you to dump the bucket on the ice and not down the hole, i can't really see why a few tails would or should be any different.

I believe dumping minnows on the ice, or even on the shore of the lake is illegal. Unless it has changed?

I don't consider bait or fish guts litter and I don't have a problem with bio degradable shit either as long as it's not a complete dumpster of shit. It's no different then leaving a gut pile in the woods IMO. That stuff is natural and adds to the eco system. Fish and other animals eat that stuff. We used to dump all our fish guts in the woods or lake or bury it in the garden. Now cig butts and other waste has no business being left out there. Some people are worse then pigs, imagine what their homes look like yeesh.

Its illegal to leave fish, including bait, behind on the ice. -Straight out of the regs.

Leaving the lake the same, if not better than a guy finds it isn’t hard.

Up on Lake Winnipeg it is legal to clean fish and leave the remains on the ice. The eagles and other birds sure like the piles.

Lake Winnipeg is a lot like Las Vegas:
...being lucky is a good thing
...sin city vs. fin city
...what happens on Lake Winn. stays at Lake Winn...don't leave ANY shit on the ice in North Dakota, please!

Rather than dumping the minnows on the ice, or lake, I just toss the remaining minnows into the ditch of the parking lot. Keep them out of the water/ice and all is good. Dogs don't mind a few freebies in the summertime, either. ;:;bowdown

Given how Red Lake has exploded in popularity, I wonder how much it resembles the streets of San Franscisco. With thousands of people on it every weekend and lodges booked out indefinatly, there has got to be alot of litter and human waste.

I'm ok with minnows on the ice. The mink and coyotes like to eat them.
