Ive learned that no matter what that groundhog says, ND will never have an early spring like the rest of the country. obviously if we're supposed to have spring "right around the corner", basically says that itll be april instead of may

I don't know this was feb 20th last year at beaver bay and we were hitting the river hard by the following weekend. The river busted open up around double ditch Superbowl Sunday last year for perspective.

::wowzers:: About 20 years ago, the week after State wrestling I drove on ice that looked WAY better than that! I broke through and the tribe totaled it pulling it out. Took about a $5k loss that day, set me back big time. The buddy I was with said they were driving on up by Hazelton that weekend, and we should be fine.... but he has the door open as we're driving out there. Well, that didn't work, maybe if I'd had mine open too, maybe? I doubt it though. The door slammed back on his foot, and broke some of those bones on top, he never could jog like he used too after that day, but at least we're alive. I should type that story up someday.

There's trucks on the ice and open water a long rifle shot away!!!! And those guys are sitting fishing pretty close to open water and that color of ice...... Holy S.H.I.T!
