Thinking about planting a few rows of trees on a rocky/ clay hill that has zero topsoil ( outskirts of RRV clay). The hill is steep- probably a 2:1 slope. Soil would be considered slightly alkaline- lots of rocks. Right now I'm thinking either hackberry or elm trees. Anyone had luck with hackberries?
