I say $10k for 3 people to Hawaii to be comfortable and not pinch pennies on the trip. So for two of you probably around $7k. That is all dependent on where you stay etc. Some people would stay in what i consider a dive hotel and think there is nothing wrong with the place. Its kimd of in the eye of the beholder. For me low end would be $10k for 3 so for two i would say min $7k.
what????no no -- you stay at vbro --- dont go during peak overcrowded season.

I am not a air bnb.. vrbo guy..have heard horror stories about them. Shit look up the cameras that have been found. All the companies say ... not our problem they are sub contractors..we dont approve but we are not responsible. I know a family that did a rental and paid a pretty good price here in the states. Said they got there and it was like the owner just left for the time they were there. Clothes in closets and drawers food in fridge. Dog hair all over..wasnt cleaned. They had to pay a cleaning fee though. They left a bad review but were shit out of luck while there. I go to hotel and room is dirty...i get a new room or they clean said room. There are repurcusions to big name hotels..they usually stand behind their name...the good ones anyways.

I've done that twice, won't do it again.

Been there 4 times.

First time was Oahu, stayed in a big motel across the street from Waikiki beach. Did a bus tour that went around the island, seen the lagoon where Blue Hawaii was filmed, a pineapple plantation and the north shore, did a helicopter tour of the whole island, and did a tour of Pearl Harbor. The Pearl Harbor tour sucked as they were doing updates to the whole thing and the museum was 3\4 empty and they wouldn't take us out to the memorial or the Missouri because they were reconstructing the docks to load people onto boats. Pissed me off big time.

Next 2 trips were to Maui to 2 different resorts on the south side of the island. First time we rented a car and did the Hanna Highway and a trip Lahaina. Second trip we just stayed on the resort.

Each one of these trips the company that took us, flew 300 to 350 people over. And we were there for 7 days each time.

The last trip was to the big island, got off the plane jumped on a bus and went to a resort and the farthest we went from the resort was 3 miles. The company took us took 150 people over and they brought in Montgomery Gentry to do a concert for us.

Sorry, can't help with what it costs to go\be there.

Yeah when it comes to snorkeling HI is tough to beat especially if your looking for sea turtles. Very rarely did I get in the water in Maui and not be amongst turtles. They could care less about you and just go about their business eating stuff in the surf as you float just feet away. Just don't be the idiot tourist who rides one :ROFLMAO:

They will eat bread crumbs out of your hand. Popped up to clear my mask and turned to look at shore. I was close to a mile out. So I turned to shore and plugged my way back. A zip lock bag filled with bread balls last a long time.

I shot 100's of Gar with a Bow in Oklahoma. But the biggest was maybe 10 lbs. And caught lots of Snapping Turtles up here.

Luau's are expensive but it is the one thing I recommend spending the money on. Definitely worth seeing at least once.
If I would have been spending my money on a Luau, I wouldn't do it. I was not impressed by it at all. And it was like 125.00 each. My wife said the samething.

The show the food and all you can drink they didn’t make much of my 125 and the Canadians we sat with . They just started putting the bottles of whiskey on the table let us make our own drinks. We had a blast probably our favorite thing we did there. The worst was driving to see some stupid waterfall I have seen more impressive ones by Ft Yates.

My wife and I did a cruise in 2009. We chose that cause we didn't know where to go. Booked excusions for ever island or just did our own thing. It was nice to experience every island and they travel to each one at night so no down time with flights. Here is how I describe each island...

Hawaii is your regular joe type living and features the most active volcanoes.

Maui is the tourist beach island. Do all the typical tropical things but also could check out mauna loa

Oahue is the metro island. I didn't care for it except pearl harbor. This is where we flew into.

Don't forget kauai. Oldest of the major island but has tone of old growth forests and absolutely breathtaking. If I go back I would spend a ton of time here. Go party with the chickenx. Lol
