Hemp can be grown in all 50 states one thing I am not a big fan of hemp business is putting a patent on a specific seed to be grown for commercial purposes. Think monsantos with what happened with copyright infringement with corn growers
NDSU has been doing various industrial hemp trials for a few years. Last year Dickinson and Langdon research centers had it. There were a few 1,000 acres grown by farmers. One thing that went on last summer was taking and sending samples into a lab to verify it was industrial hemp and not an illicif substance.
It's not very often you hear of something that was once illegal becoming legal . Our State already has laws in the ND century code , I wonder in a case like this, Will they revisit the laws in place and Can the state still legally make you jump through the hoops and pay a license fee to grow hemp if it's legal Nation wide ? I think I know the answer. I wonder what wheat growers would tell Duggie if he demanded they buy a license to grow wheat ? I'd like to plant a small plot and see how it competes with weeds in a theoretical small scale organic setting. From what I read it's probably the fastest growing weed competitor ever that will grow in this area.
