Man, I the last time I spent $150 on hunting licenses I was a student at UND and it was before they had nonresident reciprocity.

Just realized that I'd yet to renew my hunting/fishing licenses for the year. So went online and ticked the little boxes. Combination, yup...early Canada goose, gotta have that...Federal waterfowl stamp online? Score!...certificate, sure...and deer bow, oh what the heck. Might as well throw a sandhill crane licenses and swan lottery on there for good measure.

Got to the final screen and just about shat myself. Decided I didn't really like swan that much, and I never really see cranes in the fall so unchecked those boxes. But with the licenses and fees it was still $112. Plus the $30 I already spent on the deer rifle tag...wowza!

Not that I can complain. I know how expensive things have gotten everywhere to hunt and fish. And North Dakota was a long time coming. But all those license increases and that Federal Waterfowl Stamp increase all at the same time sure made a dent in the old pocket book.

Thank God gas is under $2/gallon....

Yup, G&F really jacked the prices after the deer boom went bust. Had to keep paying their 'lion specialist' I guess...

$150 to hunt and fish for the entire year is an incredible deal. Little more than $10 a month. Can't hardly do anything for $10 a month anymore.

Oh I think it's still a bargain compared to other states. I'm just saying...when you're used to paying, what, 80 bucks or something like that for the whole shebang and it almost doubles in one year, that's quite a jump!

But yes, I agree...for what we get to do here, it's hard to argue!

Here comes the 'it SHOULD cost more crowd', led by some yahoos who think there should be ANS checkpoints at every paved highway coming into the state, funded by taxpayer dollars!

Considering I love my lake and don't really want some idiots not from here ruining it forever because they're too lazy to clean and dry their boats and trailers (no I'm not calling those who are responsible and don't live here idiots) I'd be one of those yahoos who think there needs to be some form of checks like this. So..... how do I change my NDA name from gonefshn to justanotheryahooaccordingtolycan?

That's really inexpensive to me for all resident licenses. All out of state licenses are reasonable for me as well.

The only state that makes me cringe every year and to give me a tick is the Deer Combo/Elk Combo/Big Game Combo tags in Montana. Those costs almost cause me to stroke out...

$112 to be able to fish 365 days a year, hunt upland, waterfowl, furbearer, deer etc.

Am I missing something here? Took the kids through mcdonalds the other day for 3 happy meals and a "value" meal and it cost me dam near 30 bucks.

Licensing is such a small drop in the bucket at that price, it's laughable.

I know seeing the increases all at once makes a guy mumble for about 2 seconds, but stop and think about what you're getting for your $100 bucks.

I would like to see some sort of combination license option for a family that covered fishing and hunting for spouse and kids.

Unless you live in Bismarck/Mandan that is. $2.20 here for the cheap stuff.

Well since licenses are such a drop in the bucket I hope you don't expect a discount for your family combination. I hope your just hoping for the convienance of carry one license cause they are so cheap it should be the same for everyone single person no discounts on bulk buys.

NDGF Takes a lot of grief and rightfully so on some issues but on the other hand I have to stick up for what good they do also, They are doing a pretty decent job of managing the fisheries here in ND, Some is dumb luck and some isn't but when you see people driving 15 hours past 10,000 lakes to come and fish in our lakes it tells me they must be doing something right.

Yep, simply for convenience of ordering and carrying, print all the licenses on one sheet.

Welcome to the wonderful world of inflation. I've spent 112 bucks a number of crappier ways.

I spent a bunch of money on crawlers once and left them in the sun accidently, and they turned into a soupy mess. I fished with catfish stink bait, and caught a nice 40 inch pike. I was upset with my absent mindedness and remember using the license as T.P. when a sudden gut ache came over me. This was less of an issue as it sounds as I had multiple copies. I was very happy to have that $30 piece of paper.
