I know that I am going to regret asking for advice on this subject from you yahoos but here it goes. I found a yellowjacket hive in my front yard. It is connected to a branch, maybe 15 feet up. I haven't seen any activity from it so far. I would like to cut the branch so I can have the hive because I think it is cool looking. I have some of that spray that can reach like 15-20 feet but I'm worried it will ruin the hive. Any of you guys ever try to collect a hive? How did it go?

yes the spray will ruin the hive...I would suggest waiting for a nice 32 degree morning go out and cut it down then throw it in the chest freezer

I've had them come back to life after a few days in the freezer. Might want to leave it in there for a week or two.

Garbage bag at night is a good idea. Then put some insecticide in the bag. Many insects survive extended freezing. I always bag and use insecticide on coyotes too.

Ha, I think the coyote is already dead, the insecticide (Raid) is for killing the fleas. If that is not the case, then I to would like to know what kind of insecticide he is using.
