Knew some of these characters, but personally never watched any of it. Could not find the entertainment of it all

Am I the only one that grew up in the "crusher" and "Vern Gagne" days? Those two were the only wrestlers that I really cared for . I always wanted someone to pull the mask off Dr.X
Crusher and Bruiser, they always talked about drinking kegs of beer.
What was the guy who wore that mask back in the day?
Then there was that poor Kenny Jay, poor guy never would win.

Razor Ramone, papa shango, steiner bros, sting, Kevin Nash, big van vader, hacksaw Jim duggan, hitman, rey mysterio, legion of doom, Sargent slaughter (met him at west fargo car show in the 80s) could go on and on. Had all the little figures, the ring, the stuffed wrestlers.. Sure wish I still had it all along all the teenage mutant ninja turtles, Martchbox cars, legos, micromachines, NES.. Talk about a walk down memory lane!

Vern Ganja I believe owned some or all of it, at the time that's why the old man that looked like Col Klink was the champ for so many years, Oh yeah the improbable Kenny J ha
Remember my gramps every Sunday rooting for Vern, vern always pushing his feel good supplements "geritol"

My Dad always had a story about those days. He worked at a gas station and one afternoon a station wagon stopped for gas and it was six of the wrestlers of the time all in the same car You had 3 of the good guys and 3 of the bad guys and their stuff. They had a meet at a local school gym farther down the road. Later they stopped back at the cafe for a late night supper and they did not hate each other. LB

It wasn't AWA back when it first started it was just all star wrestling and the best matches were when midgets would go against each others, It wasn't very often but well worth the wait to a kid who had never seen a little man before. They are so quick . Even my Dad watched them one time and laughed but he scolded me for watching the fake wrestlers and didn't think I should watch them.

My uncle who is 6 yeads old then me used to tell me stories about my cousins would go to bonfires just to get it fights so they could try some of these moves on the other guy. I still remember the first time a stayed the summer in walhalla back in the 80s, the first 2 guys i met asked who i was then wanted to see how tough i was. We were living in hebron at the time and kids never got into fights where one would be challenged. Even when we moved back in 85 i was constantly getting in fights at recess and sent to the principals office. Dad had finally had enough and sent my sister and i to a catholic school it was for the best.
