I had an old bastard go ape shit on me a few years back, because the land I was hunting with permission from the land owner did not have access without using his private little 50 foot road. Well I drove this road and spent the next 20 minutes having my ears blistered with his tirade of swear words, and self righteous bullshit on accountability and how I am the cause of all the worlds problems, and should be jailed, etc... It was especially nice as my 2 children under the age of 6 were fortunate enough to be in the back seat hearing all of this douche bags nonsense.

I let this bother me for years, I finally let it go a few seasons back. I would bet that old jackass wouldn't even remember his actions, words, and threats, as they are burned in my brain as to how to never act, regardless of how angry I get.

Is it really much different anymore?

Yes and no. People seem to bark more than the old days but you can be cordial or tell them to piss off. Either way, you don't have to leave.

you should get some kind of an award for being the most patient man in the history of ever. no way in hell could I keep my cool in that situation.

I'm actually NOT a patient man when it comes to situations like this. I just know that unless he's actually trying to hurt me, anything I do will only end in myself and/or hunters looking bad. He only does this stuff on the road, which is public domain and he has every right to be there. Shouting threats, obscenities, and other drivel, REALLY isn't a reason to aggravate the situation into a full confrontation. Nothing gained in that. Besides, the more he cries wolf, the more LE ignores his rantings. I just hunt.
