Ice Fishing Battery Box Hack

WallyWorld has these Plano Archer's Boxs which seem to be a decent grade of plastic and are about right size for a'typical' sized Vex or other sonar battery (box may be on clearance this time ofyear as well). I just got mine on clearance for 7$. My battery is UB1280 8 amp/hour as shown in photos. What comes in box is shown in photos. Batteryfit nicely in box and looks like I would have headroom for connections if I decide to draw power from battery while in box (hole or notch forwiring) or I may just use it as a spare battery box. I cut up pieces from thefoam that came with the box to fill up space around battery in box. Right now I have it lashed on to carrier on snowmobile with coupon 20% off Red Tag priceHarbor Freight lashing strap twice around and through the handle but I may mount it differently or to the portablefishhouse somehow instead. Only time will tell how well it holds up, asis plastic much will depend on how it is mounted I would venture. Not enough room left above battery to make use of tray that came with it there and still close the lid however.

I think there is a metal mountable battery bracket made by Clam I think and I think Scheels might carry it...

i have one. Put a light switch on it for interior lights. Good unit. Would buy again. Comes with cigarette plug for accessories too (USB charger, etc)

i think they sell metal bracket and strap by itself for about 10$.
