I am driving from Minot to Grand Forks tomorrow morning. I am staying the night in GF but would love to stop somewhere along the way to fish for a few hours. Ive never fished anywhere in that area and am not sure of my options. I know Devils Lake is along the way but being that is such a huge body of water, ice conditions scare me a bit and wouldn't have any idea where to start. Any other suggestions as to a body of water I should stop at to skunk around for a while? Thanks in advance for any advice.

If you want some pike I can get you to a spot on 6 mile that is about 2 miles off Hwy 2 and very accessible.

Try off of the six mile sunken road or the east end off of wood rutten road. Great December spots

Try out lake lorreta between Michigan and Lakota
I gave Laretta a try. Took me a while to figure out the access. I had a great time. Thanks for the advice! One small perch and one nice pike that went on several long runs. It was a fun fight?
