For me Spring gets busy so I don't get the boat out till end of June at the earliest so for now I'm ready for the 40s to melt the snow and then freeze back over like a skating rink . Two months from today we will still be ice fishing in the hills, hopefully in 60 degree weather , That short window of warm ice fishing is awesome.

With the water on the ice that we experienced it may go off sooner than later however I think NOAA still has the outlook cooler than normal for may April. Who knows Jan didn't follow the outlook

Most of the time you can still ice fish around mid April and the ice is off early May. I've seen whacky early and whacky late, though.

lake has only been froze over for maybe 2 months, i'd bet we wont have boats on the main lake in 2, meaning ice season isnt even half over yet.

About 10 days from now DL will have the best ice conditions it's had all year , I hope it freezes back over with no wind so it's smooth. Not what you want to hear but unless the weatherman is wrong it's what we will get.

You don't ice fish ? Heck I think the best season for fishing is just around the corner, I seem to have better luck walking out on late ice than any time of the year .
