a couple years ago I sold by 6'x6' cabelas hub style ice shelter. Picked up a Otter 650 flip over instead. Now I find that I should have kept the hub.

Have been looking at the Otter XTH Lodge Hub Package and was told to look at the Clam XL4000T. You guys have any experience with either of these or others of similar price/quality?

I have found both of these for 299. I really like the otter material and how resistant it is on the 650, but there is a height difference where the Clam has 6inches more head room.

I purchased the Clam JM 5000 thermal last year and really like it for family outings. No complaints.

I really love my Eskimo Fatfish Insulated 9416, so much so that I just ordered the smaller 949 for when its just me or two of us. Even the 9416 which is about 8'x16' heats up quick and holds it even in the wind. I bought the adapter to use my drill to run in the ice anchors but you can also put them in by hand if you just put a couple in.

Clam jason mitchell 5000 thermal is the best pop up on the market imho unless you like spear fishing. For spearing I use an eskimo 949i. But for regular fishing jason mitchell is way to go.

Maybe they thermally bonded the quilting - lets lots of light in.
