Many years ago i never was concern about stocking up on ammo.
There was always bullets at the store and price remain the same.
Then a few years ago i was about out of 22 so went to buy a brick. Price had gone from as l remember $20 to maybe 40 or 60.
So i said never again and once bullets got cheaper again i started buying whenever they were on sale. So i am now up to about 7-8000 rounds of 22 and i will never shoot all those in the time i have left on earth.
270, 300 weatherby and 264, have enough of those to outlive my life. 30-06 have about 270 of those for my m-1 and i hope i will never use them.
223, maybe if i look, i might have a box but the only 223 i had was a model 70 which i gave to the kid and have no intention to every buy one.
Now i could use some more 44-40, 32-20, 222 magnum, 22 special, 219 zipper, 218 bee and a few more 25-20. But those shells are not the most common bullet to find at the gun store. Shot gun shells i have a few boxes but the only time i shoot a shotgun is once or twice a year to shoot some blackbirds in my plots.
So i am fine for now, have no intention of buying at this time as i do not need any at this time. Maybe a few more 22-250 would be okay as i might just one day take up hunting coyotes but then it is kinda cold that time of the year.
So one needs to plan so one does not wonder if one should have to buy when they get high price. Yes i am scare of Bidden and what him or others like him might do but will cross that bridge when it comes. No way will i let them come into my home every again, once was enough.
l sometimes doubt is there will be anyone standing along side me if that time comes so i am sure they will outlast my stand and my ammo will outlast me during the stand. At least i am old enough now to take the stand and maybe it just might help out in the end.
It's hell to grow old, i use to be concern with my dad as he grew older with what he came to believe and would say and now i find myself doing the same thing. Just find myself talking to myself too much. But i still believe we will be all right as long as we stay involve. db
