My high schooler came home one day and said they were learning about Ukraine in Social Studies. They got the message that Ukraine is an innocent victim and Russia is the world's enemy. We had to talk about "two sides to every story" and that while I won't endorse Russia, Ukraine is certainly no Cinderella. BTW, this is the same kid who at 14 decided the Covid vaccine wasn't tested well enough to want to take it after we asked his opinion.

You have to remember who said it...LOL...But history is written by the victors. In the Jews case, while they were conquered, there has always been jews living in that part of the world. Before 1948, Jews, Christians, and Muslims were all living there. After the holocaust, the United Nations took pity on the Jews and gifted them Israel.
