Yup, he had the pipe wrench on backwards and he was turning the valve open instead of closed. Counterclockwise is open. Dumb asses

LOL, the antidote for nerve agent (Atropine and 2-Pam Chloride) are auto (spring loaded) self-injectors that one is supposed to use in their thigh. So, yeah...probably not a good thing to put a hole in your heart. Besides, the needles in those kits probably aren't long enough (maybe just over an inch long) to reach the heart on most people, but it sure looked painful when a fella I knew triggered one into his thumb. The needles are kind of soft as well and it hooked nicely when it hit his thumbnail before it filled his thumb with the stuff.

Note, when I was in the Corps, we would occasionally trigger one off to later use it as a training aid. Most of us were smart enough to not try and trigger one with our thumb. My buddy got a trip to the hospital for that one. I can only imagine the look on the medical staff's face when he told them how he filled his thumb with nerve agent antidote.

We carried them in Korea during our chemical exercises to combat Anthrax, but we were instructed to jab the outside of the thigh if you had to use it!

In their defense, in my younger days, I was replacing a gas water heater. Had the Black & Decker Book of Home Repair (not actual title, bit something like it). Great book for someone who doesn't know shit about shit and doesn't have money to pay someone who does...

Anyway, gas line had one of those "nut on the bottom pipe connects to the top pipe" setups. Pretty sure that's the accepted terminology. Picture in book was bass-ackwards. I cranked on that thing,, hammered it, even torched it (turned gas off long before, but still made wife leave the house). Eventually, flipped pipe wrench around and tried the other way...came right off.

I'll hunt down the picture tomorrow...

Many U.S. based oil companies profess to have a break-even point in $50-55 range (I don't think their stock prices support that position). Only a significant leap in technology will improve this. Most of the Bakken, and a good share of the Permian premium sites have already been drilled. This suggests that going forward without a leap in technology will drive that break-even point higher.

I follow quite a few oil stocks and again, most of the CEOs are saying they will not participate in a "drill baby drill" strategy that bankrupted so many during the last DJT administration. I think they'd rather keep their jobs this time around. Again, most of the non-Exxons of the world took on a lot of debt to avoid bankruptcy during the last DJT term in office, and I don't think many of them have gotten their balance sheets back in sound financial shape.

FWIW, if you follow oil prices, you will note Brent crude today is around $78.50, WTI is around $68.80, and Bakken sweet crude is around $58.50 due to quality and transport. I wouldn't bet on ND producers significantly upping their production with the current discount and price forecasts for 2025.

Back 70's and 80's the breakeven point depended on how well each well produced whether
10 barrels day or 100 barrels. We still had base minimum back than was $15 to $20. Now days they have perfected drilling and whole process to be whole lot cheaper as we hear in news. We only did vertical drilling never horizontal. Ran a lot of submersible pumps too which they no longer do. If have dandy well dont need pump jack either.
