Any recommendations on a budget-friendly lead sled?

A lead sled is for ensuring perfect zero as in match type shooting. For hunting purposes, I'm with Jiffy and LB. I have one you can try out if you like. I use it when I get a new scope put on so I don't have to pop too many primers getting it dialed in.

They're a different hold/eye relief from the field and can cause scope slip in the mounts. I recommend sandbags.

I use my Caldwell lead sled whenever I am sighting in my 300 WSM. Otherwise, after about 2 shots I am flinching like crazy. Doesn't seem to bother me in a hunting situation but I seldom shoot more than once or twice at anything.

I have been using one for years with my 300 WSM and Nikon scope and don't recall ever having to tweak the scope.

Thanks guys. After doing more research and hearing what you had to say, I think I'll stick with bipod and bags.

Have never tried one...just bags. Im usually the only guy at the range that will actually shoot off hand, off elbows, on my ass in classic three point position etc while everyone else is on their sled...
