I HATE relying on a phone for "hurry the EFF up you have 10 seconds to figure this out" situations. Gloves, snow, fumbling, phone is too cold, gotta dig it out of the pocket your currently laying on, blah blah blah. HATE it too. Pisses me off just typing this.

It's made me one of the best in my field (whoopty doo) - but man I wish I could turn it off for hobbies, DIY work at the house, etc.

I am the exact opposite of this, my stress level is negligible.

good enough is just that.

Its made me mediocre in my field, but keeps the lights on...haha

I have a Leopold scope on all my rifles, 3x9 and have killed plenty, and missed as much. Its all good my friends.

I tape a small table under the ocular flip cap.

Yds/Drop/drift in 50yd increments from 350-1K.

I use triad tactical stock packs that are pretty close to that one. I have the zippered pockets with shell holders on the outside. I put a few extra shells in the pouch along with my drop charts.

Why even use a scope 3x9 seems overkill to me. The iron sights on me ole 30-30 lever actions can knock down a yote at 300yds.

Sorry; after all this I still find the concept of basement plinking with a .243 Winchester very amusing: Imagine how many plates the dishwasher would drop after supper.

I popped a CB coming in after work one night (bolt gun 21in bbl). The whole process was about as loud as a popping paper bag--probably less.

My ex holds the anecdotal World Record for Ten Meter Downstairs Dash/Double ACL Surgery Category to hiss: "We have company!!!"

My take on the scope thing. Will go out a limb here and say..., way more shot apps are lost with those with all this fancy crap/ dope charts than a guy shooting a straight X scope.

Seldom do coyotes give you time for all that stuff.
But I guess..., dialing " in" adds to the story on how you killed it.
Pop up over a hill and bust 5 coyotes and they take off running, I'll give the edge to the guy shooting a X̌ cross hair over a guy with a cluttered scope view anyday.

^^^^Background: To improve totally "offhand" I printed an NRA target with a grid of dots. Every night etc after work I'd take one shot across the basement (25yds +/-). I was eleven hits in a row at the above incident. It was cool to see my "evolution"; wish I'd saved the target: It got boring and I quit around 25 hits. CB's also became a rarity: I don't blame availability. I blame myself...Offhand is a quick fleeting skill IMO; not like riding a bike.

Anyways; I used to pop rds in my basement and was a better shot. I can still hold my own with sandbags or a tri-pod.

I couldn't agree more with you. I can range a Coyote with the duplex of my scope in about 2 sec. And when there 350 yds or closer there in trouble. When shooting a 50gr Blitzking at over 4200 fps there in trouble.
